Join us for a thrilling day of live-action fun, history, and adventure as we bring the Battle of Ellandun (825 AD) to life!
To mark the release of our brand-new children’s book—following the adventures of Aelfwyn and Aedric in the days leading up to the battle—we’re inviting young warriors to take part in mock battles, team challenges, and historical re-enactments inspired by real Anglo-Saxon history.
What’s Happening on the Day:
- Mini Mock Battles – Safe, foam-weapon battles for children, led by experienced event leaders.
- Learn Like a Saxon – Try out Anglo-Saxon shields, formations, and battle tactics.
- Meet the Characters – Hear extracts from the new book and meet the authors Jon Abson and Ross Kitchen.
- History Comes Alive – Learn about the kingdoms, kings, and the real events behind the battle.
Who Can Join:
- Children aged 7–14 can take part in battles.
- Families and history-lovers of all ages are welcome to watch, cheer, and explore.
