About this event

An interactive, online masterclass

1-1s underpin productive working relationships between line managers and the people they lead. The NHS aims for 1-1 conversations to be meaningful, supportive, focused and developmental.

In order to continually improve the quality of 1-1s, it is timely to consider latest good practice in leadership and how this can be routinely embedded into these types of conversations.

In particular, it is useful to pay attention to the importance of psychological safety and compassionate leadership, which are more crucial than ever given the additional pressures all colleagues are experiencing during the Covid19 pandemic.

This masterclass is designed for line managers, team leaders and human resources professionals, to support them as they undertake 1:1s with their colleagues.

This 90 minute masterclass offers participants a safe learning space to:

  • understand the key, relevant aspects of psychological safety and compassionate leadership
  • apply this learning to 1:1s in their own contexts
  • explore how 1:1s can sometimes feel sensitive and tricky, and the challenges this poses
  • learn with and from each other, sharing tips and insights from their leadership practice

You will be encouraged to consider thought-provoking ideas, share views, discuss issues with colleagues, reflect on your own practice, apply your learning to your own context and ask any questions you have.
