Event description

Description

Love to swim? Love water sports? Concerned about our aquatic environment? Join us at the Embers Aquatics International Film Festival.

Venue: The stunning Eddystone Reef inside the National Marine Aquarium. The fish will provide a dramatic backdrop to the event.

Swimming: For Mind, Body & Soul

Short films about all types of swimmers from around the world. If you love open water swimming then this is for you.

Guest Speaker: Katie Maggs. Katie, is a writer, mother, lecturer and passionate open water swimmer. Her writing has been published in Outdoor Swimmer Magazine, My Cornwall Magazine and Psychologies Magazine and I have written Health and Well Being articles for Sporting Heads, Aspire, Intrepid Magazine and Swim Secure. After personal experience of burnout and stress related anxiety her aim is to motivate and inspire others to find their own path to recovery through improved self care and increased time within blue spaces. Katie is an inspirational lady and there will be the chance to ask questions in a Q&A. See more: https://tonicofthesea.co.uk/.

The Embers International Swim Film festival is touring locations worldwide during 2019. Embers Aquatics CIC is a social enterprise. All profits from events are invested into swimming lessons, lifesaving and water safety education in developing countries where rates of drowning are high.

Love Water. Respect Water.
