Through facilitated discussion and martial arts/somatic techniques, this space for racialised/global majority people will explore and practice our connections with rage. What are the ways we can access, build connection to rage and bring it into motion to be able to move through our bodies? In the current contexts of crisis and trauma, as well as Islamophobia and anti-Blackness, how does finding this relationship to our painful emotions help us to have more bandwidth in how we respond?

Sessions are held by:

Jalal Afhim (he/him) has been practising Tai Chi and Qigong since he began learning in China in 2005. He is also a trainer and career coach, and brings a pedagogy of self-actualisation into his practice as @Kahina_Resists. He brings lived experience of navigating institutional slow violence into this work, forming connections with the experiences of participants.

Alex Augustin (he/him) is dedicated to community-led politicised health and healing work. He has a relationship to embodied practice through learning in community with politicised somatics practitioners and he has trained in Muay Thai (Thai boxing) for a number of years.
