About this event
5 Week online course. 19 Nov-17 Dec, 9:30-11am (UK time) 90 minutes
Improvisation is a skill that we need every day of our lives, because life is improvised. This intro to comedy improv is designed to wake up your creativity, sharpen your spontaneity, and reconnect you with the joy of play.
Through interactive games and partner exercises you’ll learn the core skills of improv—presence, collaboration, and thinking on your feet—in a supportive, laughter-filled environment.
Whether you're looking to boost confidence, explore embodied personal development or just try something new, this is your invitation to play and see the ripple effect it has into your life.
“But I’m not creative or a performer…”
We’re all creative but perhaps your playful side has been forgotten in adulthood. It’s time to unleash it!
It’s not about being funny or performing.
It’s about practicing freedom and expression.
It is supportive and empowering.
Working with the same people each week, you’ll bond and build confidence as you learn, play and grow together.
This is for you if:
- You want more joy in your life.
- You are interested in embodiment and want to play with new edges of your range.
- You would like to find more ease in uncertainty.
- You tend to overthinking / perfectionism and want to liberate your spontaneity.
- You want to trust yourself more and embody confidence and self expression.
- You want to build your airy, playful side.
- You feel stuck, overly planned, or too cautious—and want to unfreeze into flow.
- You’re up for laughing your head off each week with like-minded people.
“Improv - at home in front my computer?”
Yes, online improv classes are absolutely possible—and surprisingly energising! (I found that out myself when I had to improvise my business during the pandemic.)
Play is an embodied experience, it doesn’t happen in just the head. So, whilst some other online improv classes focus on wit, in this course we’ll also engage the body through movement, character work, and playful games that get you fully Being and Doing.
You’ll expand your range of expression, build resilience in the face of uncertainty, and bring more vitality into your practice, work and life. You’ll become more spontaneous, flexible and collaborative. And you will have a lot of fun!
“I can sign up and do the replays alone, right..??”
No. This is a LIVE experiential course - there are no recordings or replays.
We learn through doing it together. Groups are small to build trust and we are liberated when we are not being recorded.
“I’m interested but nervous...”
It’s natural to be nervous about stepping out of your comfort zone.
I’ve taught thousands of people over the years and they all leave with a smile, a new sense of what they’re capable of and a spring in their step. You’re in safe hands - nobody has ever died in my classes! Those nerves will fade, you’ll surprise and delight yourself and wonder why you didn’t do this years ago.
Don’t just take my word for it.
Here are some words from people who’ve joined me before:
QUOTES:
"How much we laughed, the playfulness, the trust and safety of the container. How freeing it felt, the personal learning and growth. I can see that there are many applications for improv which hadn't occurred to me before. Give it a go, surprise yourself, it's a fabulously fun way to free your mind!"
“Liz has brilliant way of making the initially intimidating accessible, fun, and liberating.”
“It has helped me to be kinder to myself and allow myself more freedom. It has allowed me to bring play back into my life. If you want more lightness and aliveness in your life, sign up!”
“Liz is 100% brilliant at teaching improv. So much fun, such laughing. Such development of participants, coming in shy and hesitant, leaving confident.”
“Outstanding – I need improv in my life!”
“Liz’s improv course was a blast. I will do it again.”
"Thank you Liz! Your course has a lot of layers and some of them are deeper than expected. I appreciate how kindly you handle people’s fears.”
“This felt like really good life skill stuff!! It's like getting us to bring whole aspects of our humanity that we've tucked away in a bottom drawer, out into the light and air!”
