Event description

Description

Embrace: The Union Project is a campaign seeking to find 2,000 people to host a screening of Embrace, the social impact documentary that explores the serious issue of body image. When we accomplish this mission, the Body Image Movement will make the Embrace Education Study Guide accessible to all UK secondary schools for FREE! This resource inspires life-changing body image conversations in the classroom. This is a ticketed event where all proceeds will go towards the Embrace Body Image Movement.

However, if you are unable to attend the fundraising event or you cannot afford to buy a ticket, please donate any spare change you have to contribute towards the cause https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/embrace-your-body.

This event is sure to be a thought provoking evening, with an introduction by Hannah Lewis where she will present her postgraduate research titled "Informing body image education policy: a systematic review of body functionality and media literacy interventions".

After watching the documentary, we will have an exciting panel discussion with some very lovely advocates of BoPo and eating disorder experts.

Confirmed speakers on the night are as follows:

Not Plant Based ('Helping you fall in love with food again')

Una Foye (Researcher)

Rachel Clare (Nutritionist)

We will also be lucky enough to hear from Hope Virgo, author of Stand Tall Little Girl which shares her recovery from anorexia.

Should be a fabulous evening full of body positivity and inspirational recovery stories!
