About this event
This EMDR Power Hour is a webinar for EMDR therapists and will focus on the future template, a key component of EMDR that is often overlooked and underused, but which can be incredibly helpful for clients, both in therapy and in coaching.
Many therapists are skilled at processing past events and current triggers, but overlook the use of the future template, which can help clients prepare for future challenges, build confidence in their ability to cope across a range of situations and, crucially, achieve their goals. It also gives an additional opportunity to process internal barriers to future success.
Rachel supervises lots of EMDR practitioners and noticed that many supervisees were unsure about how to use the future template and when to use it.
It's often the most underused tool in theEMDR toolbox.
The future template involves visualising effective coping in future challenging situations. This can set our clients up for greater success, whether that involves speaking up in a meeting, holding a boundary, driving on the motorway, expressing a difference of opinion, seeing a perpetrator, havign medical treatment, preparing for a forthcoming birth and so on.
