Description

This is a fully accredited Emergency First Aid At Work course (EFAW) by the HSE and is also accredited through Ofqual.

The addition of the Management of Catastrophic Haemorrhage module and the Ballistics and Ballistic Injuries presentation makes this course ideal for Range Officers and anyone associated with the shooting fraternity.

This one day training course is perfect for training people in the management of emergency life threatening scenarios.

Learning outcomes includes

  • The role and responsibilities of a First Aider
  • Managing emergencies
  • Managing cardiac arrests and CPR
  • Using and Automated External Defibrillator

This course will also include a presentation on ballistics and ballistic injuries and specialist first aid techniques such as:

  • Controlling a catastrophic haemorrhage
  • Application of Combat Application Tourniquets (CATs) and Special Operation Forces Tourniquets (SoFTs)
  • Use of novel haemostatics such as combat gauze, quick clot and haemcon
