Emergency First Aid at Work (FAIB Approved)


Course content: first aid equipment & accident reporting / managing an incident / priorities of first aid / adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) / child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (optional) / defibrillation / treatment of choking adult (child and infant optional) / treatment of unconscious casualty including seizure / treatment of wounds and bleeding / treatment for shock / treatment of minor wounds and burns.

Assessment: Continuous assessment by trainer. Delegates must be able to demonstrate the practical elements of the course including carrying out CPR on a mannequin placed on the floor

Certificate: A FAIB certificate, valid for three years, is issued on successful completion of the course.

Trainer: Shelley Revitt - "I have been teaching First Aid for the passed 13 years and teach with a passion and drive for the subject. I aim to deliver my courses in a light hearted manner that is suitable for all candidates. The courses are tailored to each individual workplace so they are specific for their working environment"

This course is approved by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB)


Eligibility:

The training is free. This training is open to all Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations based and operating in the City of York, Including York Outer or with beneficiaries in York.

**Due to high demand this training is limited to two places per VCSE organisation**

If you are unable to attend, please do let us know as soon as possible so that we can try to offer the place to another delegate. We can accept a substitute from your organisation.

We reserve the right to charge an administration fee of £20 to those who do not give 24 hours notice of cancellation.

Venue:

The training will take place at the Priory Street Centre in York. Registration will be open from 9:00am when drinks will be available. The training will start at 9.30am. It will finish at 4.00pm.
