Event description

Description

Emergency First Aid at Work for Golf is relevant for all those working, playing and volunteering at a golf club and will equip them to deal with emergency medical situations confidently. It is also relevant for anyone requiring an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Certificate as the seven-hour course covers all topics required in the standard HSE recognised EFAW course. It includes additional content related to golf and is delivered in a golfing context, tailored to the mix of attendees (clubhouse staff, greenkeepers, professional and volunteer coaches, etc).

Due Diligence:

The First Aid Training Co-operative fulfils HSE due diligence requirements. Read more on their website.

Instruction Method:
Theoretical training and practical scenarios are used together to incrementally develop skills throughout the course. Participants should be prepared to be active and participate in progressive scenario practice.

Prerequisites:
No prerequisite first aid knowledge is required.

Certificated:
On completion of the course candidates will be awarded a First Aid Certificate which will be valid for 3 years.

The courses are very practical and use examples and scenarios relating to the golf setting throughout. By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Recognise and respond to an accident or illness arising at the golf club
  • Confidently manage an accident or illness incident
  • Help the club fulfil its duty of care towards others
  • Undertake a range of key lifesaving first aid procedures including Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
