This workshop will enable individuals to give assistance at emergencies until more qualified help arrives. The course is run over three hours and includes both theory and practical content, in a relaxed atmosphere, designed to boost participant's confidence and ability to react correctly in an emergency situation.
Specific to sports environments, the syllabus includes:
- Managing Incidents
- First Aid Priorities and Primary Survey
- Adult / Child Basic Life Support
- Use of an AED (Defibrillator)
- Examination of a Casualty & Recovery Position
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Fractures and Dislocations
- Soft Tissue Injuries
The course is delivered by First Response Jersey on behalf of Jersey Sport, and includes an Emergency Sports First Aid e-certificate of attendance, which will be emailed to you after completion of the training. The certification is valid for three years, though a refresher is recommended every twelve months.
