UKCP invites all postgraduate and early career researchers to join the new Emerging Researcher Network (ERN). At our first online meeting in November, we will welcome Dr. Amy Pearson (Durham University) to talk about her work in the field of autism and neurodiversity.
ERN meetings will occur quarterly on a Wednesday afternoon. At each meeting, there will be a presentation given by an expert in the field and a Q&A session, followed by an opportunity for emerging researchers to give an overview or ‘mini presentation’ of their own work. Individuals can discuss any challenges or barriers they’re facing in a current project with the expert and wider network and come away with specific tips, advice and guidance.
The expert speaker presentations will alternate between a practical research skill and a thematic or contemporary psychotherapy topic. The first four sessions will cover:
Neurodiversity and research
Psychotherapy topic | 12 November 2025
Reflexivity and the importance of a researcher’s own voice
Research skill | February 2026
Cultural competency and humility in psychotherapy research
Psychotherapy topic | May 2026
Research conference how to’s: submitting abstracts and presenting effectively
Research skill | September 2026
Please note that these topics are subject to change due to speaker availability.
