This event takes places over Saturday 19 July and Sunday 20 July 2025. Ticket options will be available for either day.

Where does it start/finish?

You will board/disembark the boat at Gosport Premier Marina, Mumby Road, Gosport PO12 1AH

Question 3

What are the timings for each day?

Accepted Answer

You will need to arrive at 09.30am and will depart around 18.00-18.30pm. Please see event overview for full itinerary.

Question 4

Is there parking available?

Accepted Answer

Yes - paid parking is available at Gosport Premier Marina on a first come, first served basis. You will receive a ticket on arrival which you can validate with Clipper Events staff for discounted parking at £4.00 per day.

Question 5

Do I need sailing experience?

Accepted Answer

No - this activity is open to all levels of experience. You will received instruction and guidance from our professional sailing staff.

Question 6

Will I get to actually sail the boat?

Accepted Answer

Yes - this is a hands-on sailing experience so you can expect to be involved in all aspects of sailing including winch handling, sail trimming and helming.

Question 7

Do you provide safety equipment?

Accepted Answer

Yes - all participants will be provided with a lifejacket which must be worn at all times whilst on board. You will also have a safety line which is to be used in the event that conditions require.

Are there toilets on board?

Yes there are toilets on board.

Question 9

Is lunch/drinks provided?

Accepted Answer

Yes - lunch will be provided on board and is included in your ticket. This will be a filled baguette, sweet treat, piece of fruit and packet of crisps. Soft drinks will also be provided. If you wish you bring additional snacks/soft drinks you are welcome to do - NO alcoholic beverages.

Can you cater to specific dietary requirements?

Yes - you can advise your dietaries when booking as these will be catered for.

Question 11

Will I get seasick?

Accepted Answer

If you are prone to seasickness then this is possible. If you are worried, please take anti-seasickness precautions as directed by the guidance on your chosen medication.

Question 12

Do you provide wet weather clothing?

Accepted Answer

Yes - in the event of wet weather, we will have wet weather jackets/trousers for you to use whilst on board.

Question 13

How many SailGP races will there be?

Accepted Answer

There are 3 races scheduled for each day between 1600-1730. This may be subject to change based on conditions.

Question 14

Will we get front row view of the SailGP racing?

Accepted Answer

Whilst we cannot guarantee front row views, we will endeavour to get the best position possible. There is an exclusion zone around the perimeter of the course that no boats are permitted within but we should be able to get close to that boundary.

Question 15

What happens in bad weather?

Accepted Answer

Our Clipper 68 yachts can handle any weather so the sailing experience will go ahead regardless of the weather. However, if the conditions are not suitable for SailGP racing, this may affect the race schedule.

Question 16

Will I get a refund if SailGP racing is cancelled?

Accepted Answer

As SailGP racing is subject to conditions, we are unable to control what happens. In the event that organisers cancel racing, you would not be entitled to any refunds but we would endeavour to fill the time with an extended sailing experience.
