There are a lot of articles, blogs, books and TED type talks on the themes of authenticity and vulnerability. Emotion consistently features in these in an implicit way and some times in an explicit way. However, the role of deception and the use of authenticity or vulnerability as a Credibility Management strategy is talked about much less often.
In this interactive session we will use case studies, discussion and research data to explore these themes. Particularly, we want to answer questions like:
What does vulnerability look like in your context?
Is there such a thing as authenticity?
What are the opportunities and risks of being 'truly vulnerable' or 'completely authentic'?
Where on a deception spectrum is it OK (or do we need to) be?
