Description

Meet your Emotional Homunculus

Please note this event is IN HOUSE and for James Young High School only.

Ever get the feeling that your body has a mind of its own? Some days you feel like you just can’t get out of bed and on others you’re so excited you can’t get to sleep!

Meet your emotional homunculus – the part of the brain that determines how we perceive and react to things – particularly in conflict situations – based on our emotions and learned responses.

Join the Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) to hear about our latest campaign in helping to prevent youth homelessness through early intervention in family conflict resolution. “Meet your Emotional Homunculus” provides an exciting opportunity to explore your body mind connection, mental health and wellbeing and family conflict whilst combining the science of brain chemistry and evolution to get us thinking about what makes us uniquely human.

The SCCR is a national centre for best practice in mediation, conflict resolution and early intervention with a particular focus on young people and families. Through our free events, training and online resources we support young people, parents/carers and practitioners working with families to become more confident in managing conflict, improve relationships and ultimately reduce youth homelessness.
