Course Synopsis

This workshop will focus on the concept of emotional intelligence (EI) and the impact that enhanced EI can have upon an individual’s ability to deliver high quality experiences to their patients, clients and colleagues. Emotion is important in social interactions as there is a strong body of evidence highlighting the impact that emotionality can have upon the thought processes, decision-making and skill execution of expert practitioners and public-facing staff.

This workshop will explore how the emotional state of an individual can impact upon interactions with other people through changes in their the emotion-induced behaviours (e.g., communication style, body language, degree of empathy). The links between emotional state and decision-making (such as diagnosis, prescription and treatment) will also be explored. The workshop will also explore some of the most effective strategies for developing emotional awareness and to develop your emotional intelligence for the benefit of both yourself and other people.

Workshop goals:

  1. To increase awareness of emotional intelligence and its impact upon both yourself and others
  2. Develop an awareness of own Emotional Intelligence
  3. Identify strategies that can be utilised to enhance emotional control, and awareness of emotional states in others.

Monday Morning you will be able to:

  1. Be aware of your own emotional state and regulate more effectively
  2. Better understand the emotional state of others
  3. Positively influence the emotional state of others
