Event description
A bespoke workshop exploring the most burning questions that parents of school aged children have around emotional wellbeing

About this Event

Come and spend a relaxed morning learning about things that matter to you as a parent.

Venue:

Halifax Hall is a beautiful hotel, which is easy to access and has its own parking.

Structure of workshop:

The workshop will have a maximum of 8 people to help everyone feel comfortable. Participants are expected to attend without their children - this is space for you as an adult to have some headspace and learn about what matters to you. Some tea and pastries will be provided – you need to be looked after too! The session will run for 2 hours and there will be a 10 minute break in the middle. Information will be delivered in an informal discussion style, you won't have to share anything personal, but there'll be lots of opportunities to ask questions around things that matter to you.

Topics covered:

These are bespoke and based on what participants request. So far the requested topics are as follows:

  • What can you do as a parent to nurture your child’s mental health?
  • How can you help them deal with issues that come up for them?
  • How can you make the most of your time with your child, especially if it’s limited?
  • How do you help your child develop emotional awareness?

These will probably take up the majority of our time.

Who is delivering the workshop?

Victoria has been working in specialist child and adolescent mental health services since 2010. She has a wealth of experience working with different families and children and adolescents with mental health difficulties. Her specific interests are around attachment and early life experiences that contribute to ongoing emotional wellbeing. She is also a mum and knows first-hand about the demands of trying to do your best to raise your child while working.

A few things to be aware of:
