Event description

Description

Hereunder the proposal for the Awareness Raising Campaign Employ Me. The Campaign is set to be developed from February 2017 to October 2017. The core of the Campaign will be the “Employ Me Conference of exchange of best practices” that will be held in Hasselt (Belgium), 04-05 April 2017. The event will be organized and hosted by UC Limburg.

Objective

The campaign aims at informing and raising awareness among relevant stakeholders and Roma people on the importance of increasing employment possibilities in Europe and ensuring equal opportunities for Roma people; a better understanding and improved awareness will help to advocate for the rights of Roma in the labour market (paying special attention to youngsters) and will help professionals, stakeholders and Roma to reduce vulnerability, speed up Roma social inclusion and support the implementation of inclusion strategies at different levels.

Strategy

The Campaign is designed to develop a combined-integrated approach to ensure consistency in delivering messages to meeting objectives and reaching target groups adequately. All the partners (20 full partners in 9 countries, and 4 associated partners) will be actively involved and share responsibility of delivering successfully the plan; among them, UC Limburg will play a key role, both as project leader and because it will host the Conference, main event of the Campaign; also Fondazione Leone Moressa will play an important role, as is the partner responsible for the project Work Stream 4 - Dissemination. The campaign outlines successful experiences and potential opportunities in the area of employment for Roma people and their communities along with the best practices on the issue, of course depending on the diversity of local context: social entrepreneurship, microcredit and some other experiences around Roma support centers will be discussed within the Campaign implementation.
