Over the last generation, the labour market has undergone massive change with traditional industries being replaced by a much more varied landscape in an increasingly global economy. For young people understanding the reality of career options is ever more complex. Employer engagement can make a difference to the prospects of all young people. As The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) argues, it helps them make better decisions about what and where to study, so they can go into the labour market better able to compete for available jobs and when they get into work contribute more from day one.
Whether you are an employer, trying to ensure that you access the best recruits or a school, supporting a young person to make a positive progression from education, join us at the ‘Employability and Inspiration Summit’ on the 30th June 2014 and get involved in the debate!
Hear from Neill Ricketts, Local Enterprise Partnership board member and CEO of Versarien Plc and David Andrews OBE, Senior Research Fellow NICEC about the economic benefits in developing the critical relationship between employers and education providers. Delegates will also have the opportunity to attend a number of workshops which will provide practical assistance in securing and improving these relationships.
We invite you to attend two workshops from the list below:
