Event description

Description

Aimed at secondary teachers of all subjects. Refreshments provided.

With the avalanche of new products, new technologies and new ways of working, workers are going to have to become more creative…Robots may help us get to where we want to be faster, but they can’t be as creative as humans (yet).  World Economic Forum, Davos 2016

The need to make our young people more employable is unquestionable but how we do this is debatable. With future predictions pointing towards an automated world, what are the skills needed for a future work force? The Future of Jobs report published in 2016 predicts that by 2025 the top 3 skills required will be complex problem solving, critical thinking and creativity.

These are the skills used by artists every day.

Delivered in partnership with Hidden Giants, this session will explore the role of art, artists, culture and value within employability in education.  It will challenge assumptions to find new ways to approach this essential part of schooling.
