Event description

Description

Immigration is a hot topic in the wake of Britain’s decision to leave the EU.

While the future of European migrants remains uncertain, our breakfast briefing looks at what we do know about the government’s post-Brexit immigration policy, and how employers can prepare for a strong and diverse workforce.

We’ll recap the UK’s current business immigration model, focusing on how businesses can engage non-EU migrants under the points-based system.

We’ll also discuss the Home Office’s current emphasis on preventing illegal working, including the importance of correctly conducting right to work checks – not only before an individual’s employment begins, but throughout their employment. We’ll explore recent cases and discuss how businesses can balance the Home Office’s complex immigration rules with a migrant’s employment rights.
