Our annual employment law day has always been a sell out and this one promises to attract attention early on. We have something for everyone with a choice of 3 repeated workshops, as well as the usual update to keep you alert to changes, plus we will have a new exhibition space available during the lunch break.
Cambridge CIPD are pleased to be working with Birketts to deliver our 2016 Employment Law Day.
We start with bacon rolls at 8.30 am, so no need for breakfast and an easier journey to the racecourse on the edge of Newmarket. Then there is always the chance of seeing some racehorses training through the early morning mist. There is plenty of free parking on site.

1. HR International - how to manage overseas workers
This workshop will look at the issues that arise when managing employees based overseas from the UK, including:
} Contractual arrangements
} What law /jurisdiction should apply;
} Mandatory rights
} Visa requirements
2. Atypical Workers - how they are different and what terms apply
This workshop will look at the different working relationships that can apply to certain workers and the legal issues that arise. In particular it will explore the following:
} Agency workers
} Casual/Zero hours
} Consultants/self-employed contractors
} Workers engaged through personal service companies (does IR35 apply?)
3. Gender Pay Gap - what does this mean in practice for employers?
This workshop will explore the forthcoming regulations and what they will require of employers, including:
} What the draft regulations cover?
} What is still unknown?
} What practical steps employers should take?
You will be allocated a seat for each workshop so you won't miss any topic.

Who should attend?
HR professionals at all levels, directors and managers. You don't need to be in HR or a member of the CIPD to attend, just a need to be aware of employment law changes.
