This half day employment law update focussing on the following key topics:-

  1. The negotiations relating to EU Citizens Rights have given employers and their European workforce a bumpy ride. There is no doubt that UK businesses still need to rely on foreign nationals to fill their skills gap. We will discuss the steps businesses can take to secure the immigration status of their employees and to place themselves in the best possible position post Brexit.
  1. We will consider the ongoing debate around bullying and sexual harassment in the workplace, particularly in light of the #MeToo campaign. Through an interactive case study, we will explore a number of key themes to allow discussion and to generate thoughts, approaches and potential action relating to:-
  • Why is sexual harassment still happening and what is it about today’s workplace that facilitate that?
  • What barriers (legal or otherwise) are there to prevent members of staff complaining about sexual harassment and how can these be removed?
  • What can businesses be doing to address sexual harassment complaints and what action can be taken in relation to the perpetrators of harassment?
  • What are the risks for businesses that fail to protect staff from bullying and harassment in the workplace?
  1. We will conclude the session by providing an overview of three employment law cases that will be of importance and relevance to the attendees.
