Regardless of Brexit, the Government has announced that the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will go ahead. Billed as the biggest change in data protection law in twenty years, there are serious implications for employers. This of course means that HR professionals will be in the front line, both in terms of how employees' personal data is processed as well as how it is used against employers in litigation. This session therefore offers a critical update for all business professionals.

As a result of attending this event you will:

  • Find out more about the GDPR
  • Discover the implications of the GDPR on business
  • Gain better insight in how to best manage, implement and embrace the GDPR

Our speakers

Daryl Cowan, Partner, D&C Employment Solicitors and Darren Tibble, Partner, D&C Employment Solicitors.

Darren’s work includes advice on complex disciplinary, dismissal and grievance processes; redundancies, restructuring and collective dismissals; TUPE; appointment and termination of senior executives; discrimination, diversity and equal opportunities; Employment Tribunal litigation, mediation and dispute resolution; High Court litigation and enforcement of restrictive covenants; and trade unions, collective disputes and industrial action.

Daryl Cowan is experienced in handling both contentious and non-contentious matters.  He has successfully participated in mediating disputes (both formal and informal) for clients on a number of occasions.  He enjoys all aspects of employment law but particularly complex TUPE issues, multi-faceted restructuring exercises and senior executive/director level issues.  He regularly presents seminars and workshops to clients.
