A practical guide to changes to employment law. This event will look at recent and upcoming changes to employment legislation and cases. The session will focus on developments that could influence the way that you review and implement your approach to HR.
Helen Burgess, Partner
Areas of expertise: Helen heads up and manages the Nottingham Employment Team alongside her main role of giving clients straightforward and pragmatic strategic advice. Particular area of expertise include: TUPE and outsourcing; Tribunals; business-related immigration; collective and union issues; disciplinary, grievance and dismissal issues; and drafting and negotiating senior executive termination agreements.
Favourite part of the job: People! My team, colleagues and clients. Working collaboratively and in partnership with clients. Working particularly and in partnership with clients is what makes me tick – and gets the results for clients!
Michael Briggs, Senior Associate
Areas of expertise: Providing comprehensive, practical and commercial advice to a wide range of company and individual clients on all aspects of HR/employment law, working at all times in partnership with HR and senior management teams. Includes providing advice in respect of disciplinary and grievance, absence and performance management, redundancy and restructures, national minimum wage matters and senior exits.
Favourite part of the job: There are so many to name, but getting the best possible results for my clients.
Charlotte Staples, Associate
Areas of expertise: Providing commercial and strategic advice on all areas of employment law. Charlotte regularly chairs workshops and forums for HR professionals and in-house lawyers and she has written and led a range of successful training courses for managers, HR professionals and in-house lawyers.
Favourite part of the job: Building relationships with clients and getting to know their business. I also love a good TUPE debate!
