At our next Annual Employment Law Update, we welcome back Andrew Knorpel and Sofia Syed from Mundays Solicitors who will be focussing on mental health in the workplace.
Mental health was very much a hidden condition, with few people admitting that they suffer from it and resources for treating it being limited. Over the last few years, not only has discussion been far more open, but the Government has brought mental health towards the top of its agenda within its “Improving Lives” Green Paper aiming to put mental and physical health on an equal footing and the Prime Minister recently announced a review into managing mental health issues in the workplace.
Andrew and Sofia will look at how employers should approach the issue of mental ill-health and the employment law risks which may arise. This will be followed by a short presentation by Wendy Ladd from Valentine Occupational Health on how she approaches mental health when compiling medical reports. We’ll then finish off with a case study, drawing all the strands together.
