About this Event

With one in four people in the UK likely to be affected by mental ill health at some stage in their lives, employers need to be able to manage the risk this presents within their organisation at every stage in the employment relationship. By providing an environment in which employees feel supported when issues do arise and where management are confident enough to be proactive, risks can be minimised, business can operate as usual and the workforce can be healthier, happier and more productive.

The current pandemic and “stay at home” message means those working from home and their employers face a new challenge. The extension of lockdown and the uncertainty created by the crisis have caused anxiety and worry for many. Colleagues feel isolated, away from the direct support they would normally receive while trying to work in conditions which are often less than ideal. All of this can take its toll on mental health.

Employment Law specialist, Chris Phillips will host a 1 hour webinar and online Q&A where he will tackle the key issues employers and HR professionals are facing at the current time, while providing practical steps you can take to help your organisation adjust to the new workplace of the future.

This webinar will cover:

• Some key causes of work related stress

• Raising awareness of mental health and recognising warning signs

• The relationship between stress and mental ill health

• The importance of open communications and a positive approach

• Tips for managing your teams remotely

• Addressing the challenge of home working and maintaining good mental health

Duration: 60 minutes inc. Q&A

Cost: This session is kindly offered free by Thorntons to support fellow businesses through the disruption caused by COVID-19.
