About this event

Empowered Creativity: 2024 Youth Programme

We are still planning the details of this summer's Art & Eco Creativity Programmes and full details are expected to be announced in May, and booking open in coordination with the countywide Holiday Activity and Food Scheme a bit later in the term.

Expect to join us for a fun-filled event that combines arts related (music, theatre, visual arts, craft, and technical skills that support arts) activities and eco-inspired activities. Our Programme invites young artists and nature enthusiasts to explore their creativity in a vibrant, hands-on setting.

We welcome expressions of interest from older teens interested to contribute to the programme via internships: we are particularly interested in you leading fun dance, art, or nature sessions. There could be cookery related opportunities too.

Our experienced youth workers will introduce participants to activities, and help develop and enable ideas that participants or older youth interns suggest.

Each day will include a hot meal, usually made together in an OUTDOOR kitchen!

After a tour of the site, each day we will have collective activities and projects: we anticipate these to include music making/jamming sessions, art making, and a foraging related challenge across the days.

Whether you're a budding artist or a nature lover, want to hang out with buddies or a natural adventurer, this programme aims to support you to have an exceptional experience.

Join us at the Empowered Creativity: 2024 Youth Programme!

Locations: Anticipated as Four Mills Lane, Crediton EX17 and Creativity Acre at Significant Seams, Knowle, Crediton Hamlets. Details to be confirmed closer to the time.

The programme is currently expected to carry a charge but we are in discussion with potenial partners to reduce or eliminate this. We currently have 15 spaces available fully funded for young people entitled to free school meals. A code, provided by the young person's school or Devon County Council, will be needed to secure one of these places. If the young person has participated as a Free School Meal recipient in the past, we should have the code on record. Otherwise the code must be obtained from a school or DCC. If the young person has participated and had a sponsored space for another reason, it is highly unlikely to be funded by DCC in this round of activities. Please do let us know if cost is prohibiting factor. We are keen to understand any needs so we can do anything we can to address it.
