    ____WORKSHOPS _____________________________________________________________________________________

In the afternoon, we'll have two workshop rounds. You can attend two workshops of your choice, one in each round. Please select your preferred workshops from the descriptions provided below:

    • ESG and Biodiversity in the Energy Sector (delivered by Dr Rachel Gavey from ESG):

This workshop aims to raise awareness and comprehension of the prominent trends observed in ESG and biodiversity reporting and initiatives within the energy sector. Participants will gain insights to begin to evaluate their company's alignment with these trends and to look towards future developments. In groups we will run through a quick double materiality exercise and explore a biodiversity scenario derived from the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) framework.

    • Quo vadis petroleum industry? Navigating a sector in the state of flux (delivered by Dr Arndt Peterhänsel from TRACS International):

Rather than lecturing from the front, in this workshop, Arndt wants to discuss perceptions and misperceptions, solutions, and innovations that our industry is developing to advance what is currently a disruptive process. The energy transition is underway, and it has many facets regarding the where, the who, and the when. Markets and legislators may map these roads, but our ideas will determine the industry's route.

    • Energy Transition Career chat - SPEED dating career advice:

Network with industry experts and peers, share experiences, and gain valuable career insights through brief one-on-one sessions. Get ready to mingle, exchange ideas, and accelerate your career journey in the energy transition field

    • Returning to STEM! (delivered by Anouska Carling from STEM RETURNERS)

Discover what it means to be a "returner" and gain exclusive insights into the unique challenges and barriers faced by professionals re-entering the workforce after a career break.

Join Anouska, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Programme Manager at STEM Returners, in this workshop to discover how STEM Returners is on a mission to make it easier for highly qualified STEM professionals to return to work, creating the fairer, more diverse industry we all deserve. The interactive workshop will delve into the definition of a returner, and gain insights from our annual research, The STEM Returners Index, which reveals the barriers career break professionals are facing when trying to return to STEM after a career break.

    • Coaching fundamentals (delivered by Helen Taylor from Copper Row Coaching):

Helen’s session will cover the basics of how to hold an effective coaching conversation, as well as how self-coaching can be a useful tool in personal development. The session will also touch on related topics such as situational leadership, growth mindset and psychological safety.

    • Introduction to AI for an Energy industry in Transition (delivered by Inês Cecílio from SLB):

In this workshop we will “journey” from basic AI notions, to the concepts with the most E&P business impact at present, through to AI’s new advancements like generative AI which are set to reshape the industry.
