Empowering Voices – LGBTQ+ Untold Stories – Lunch andLearn
Empowering Voices is a collaboration of youth work organisations across Scotland, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Wales. We brought together young people to create artwork or stories about their experience as young LGBTQ+ people.Young people from LGBT Youth Scotland, The Proud Trust, VivaLGBTQ+, the Education Authority Youth Service and Belong To, have created a bookof stories and images capturing their stories.This lunch and learn session is a launch of their book, showcasing the young people’s art capturing the shared and differing experiences of LGBTQ+ young people, collating creative records of their lived experience across five nations, as well as an opportunity to share how we got from concept to delivery, and our learning along the way. Through their artistic creations, they can raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and advocate for equal rights and spark important conversations. By recognizing and supporting the transformative power of art, we can empower LGBTQ+ youth to embrace their authentic selves, celebrate their identities, and contribute to a more inclusive and accepting society.
