If you were given the brief to talk about ‘Empowering Women in STEM’, how would you respond? I had no idea, and a fair dose of imposter syndrome – so this is the result! An honest account of how I ended up as an independent PI, this talk aims to start a discussion about what could be done to improve the academic environment. Participants will hear some suggestions for the transition to independence, how to combat imposter syndrome, and discuss some small things we can all do to make our working lives better.

Presenter: Dr Anna Slater is a Royal Society Research Fellow and Lecturer in Chemistry at the University of Liverpool.
