About this event

Business • Career

Manufacturing SMEs across the Midlands and the rest of the UK are increasingly adopting industrial digital technologies (IDTs) to help drive innovation and productivity. But as manufacturers seek to scale-up the productivity gains of IDT investments, they are faced with the challenge of how best to maximise the innovative potential of their employees. One promising approach increasingly adopted by manufacturers is called ‘job crafting’.

This interactive, half-day workshop organised by the Made Smarter InterAct team will bring together expert facilitators in job crafting for innovation alongside team leaders and managers from manufacturing SMEs. We will share good practice from manufacturers who have used job crafting to drive innovation and maximise productivity gains from digital investments. And a series of interactive activities will help you to think about how job crafting could make a difference to productivity performance in your team or business.

What is job crafting?

Job crafting is a form of work organisation that supports employees to find efficiencies, generate ideas and improve their jobs from the bottom-up. A substantial evidence base suggests that businesses that support job crafting benefit in terms of employee engagement, productivity and innovation performance.

Who should attend?

Managers, HR practitioners, team leaders… anyone with an interest in improving people’s jobs and scaling innovation and productivity in manufacturing SMEs.
