Event description

Description

The rise of fake news and misinformation means more than ever pupils of all ages need to be discerning of the information they consume. However, it is not a matter of schools teaching a new subject, but of building the skills they need to think critically about the information they receive, whatever the subject matter.

This session will provide an opportunity for educators to engage with digital news resources in a deep and meaningful way and showcase how to incorporate these resources into all subjects to develop pupils’ critical thinking skills. Using resources from Discovery Education Espresso and the latest educational research, alongside a number of other free online tools attendees will leave with a number of practical strategies they can implement in their classrooms straight away.

Recommended for all primary school-based staff.
