Event description

Description

A lightning talk is a short presentation by a Speech and Language Therapist who may come from a range of backgrounds, including paediatric, adult and learning disability. The event is open to all Speech and Language Therapists and students.

The lightening talks are 5 minutes long, with a maximum of 2 minutes for questions afterwards. There will be up to 10 speakers, with the opportunity for a drink and networking once the talks have concluded.

The evening is designed to be an opportunity for fun, cheap, interesting CPD and to network with local colleagues.

We are looking to recruit presenters, with topics being based on clinical information within the field. For example, therapy approaches, current research, case studies, audits, AAC, technology and unusual conditions. Presentations can be verbal or using PowerPoint.

Previous presentations have included: the CITCEN toolkit, early phonological development in Welsh-English bilingual children, Expiratory Muscle Strength Training and puberphonia following brain injury.

If you would like to present at the evening or have any questions, please contact daisy.elliott@nbt.nhs.uk or james.walker@nbt.nhs.uk
