Join us Tuesday 14 October (6-8pm) at Frankie & Benny’s, Gunwharf Quays; for food, drinks, good conversation and a closer look at the venue's accessibility!

What to Expect:

Frankie & Benny’s offers New York–style Italian comfort food with something for everyone: pizzas, pastas, burgers, salads, lighter “Feel Good” options and a range of veggie, vegan and gluten-free choices. Starters like mozzarella sticks, bruschetta or wings and meal deals across the menu make it an easy place to choose what's best to eat. For those who prefer not to spend, you’re warmly welcome to join us with just a glass of tap water; it’s the company and chat that matter most.

Atmosphere & Timing:

We’ll meet mid-week, early evening (6-8pm), avoiding the bustle of weekends and busy Friday nights. The setting is relaxed and group-friendly, with moderate background noise and comfortable seating for chatting over food and drinks.

Accessibility:

  • Wheelchair accessible with lift access to the first floor of Gunwharf Quays.
  • Adapted toilet facilities available.
  • Wide choice of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan menu items.
  • Layout and space we’ll review together as part of our visit.

Location & Extras:

Frankie & Benny’s is based in the heart of Gunwharf Quays, within easy reach of shops, the harbour and transport links. Gunwharf itself is committed to being accessible and visitor-friendly, so we’ll get a good sense of how the restaurant fits within their quest of being accessible.

Why Attend?

  • A relaxed, inclusive gathering where the focus is on connection and accessibility.
  • Wide menu with something for everyone, but no obligation to buy; free visits are always welcome, even if you only have tap water.
  • An easy mid-week meet-up spot to explore together as a group.

Legal Declaration

Service User Agreement for Enable Ability Activities

This declaration outlines the terms and conditions for service users aged 25 and over with disabilities who participate in activities organised by Enable Ability.

1. Purpose of Activities

The primary purpose of these activities is to foster and embrace independence for service users in a safe and supportive environment.

2. Responsibility Statement

Enable Ability shall not be held responsible for the service user after the agreed set time of the activity, regardless of any incidents, including but not limited to accidents or injuries. It is the responsibility of parents, carers, or the service user to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place for the service user’s safety outside of the agreed activity time.

3. Parental/Carer Involvement

Parents or carers have the right to make the following choices regarding their involvement:

• Allow the service user to stay at the activity alone to encourage their independence.

• Collect the service user from the activity at the agreed time.

• Join the service user during the activity.

• Be on call during the activity to respond in the event of an emergency.

4. Consent to Participate

If a service user is unable to sign on their own behalf, their parent or carer may sign this declaration on their behalf, indicating their agreement with these terms.

By signing this declaration, the undersigned acknowledges and agrees to the terms outlined above, releasing Enable Ability from any liability beyond the agreed activity duration.

You are also signing to declare you have no history of past events which may place those attending the event in danger, either causing risk to yourself or any individuals known to you.

The purpose of this project is giving adults with disabilities the freedom to be fully independent without support and care from charity staff. Clients will be able to drink alcohol, smoke and vape whilst at activities if they wish. The charity would simply be facilitating the social meet ups.

The charity wouldn’t endorse activities such as smoking/vaping and will be encouraging everyone to drink responsibly when with us. Any challenging behaviour shown towards staff, other service users and/or members of the public will not be invited back.
