WAO representatives will use this session as an opportunity to glean the views of housing association representatives as part of research into adaptations and their impact on health. The WAO main study question is:
‘Is there an effective strategic approach to housing adaptations that delivers value for money and assures the continued wellbeing of vulnerable people?’
The main supplementary questions are:
- Are partners working together to develop effective policies, and plan and commission successful current and future housing adaptations?
- Are adaptation teams, care management, and occupational therapy services working together to ensure equality, fairness, and consistency in approaches to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable people in Wales?
- Are partners managing the performance of their adaptations, and planning for and delivering ongoing improvements in value for money and better outcomes?
The focus group will explore how effectively housing associations work with councils and health boards to plan adaptations, whether the services are being provided equitably, fairly and consistently and how performance is managed within the system.
