Enabling Ecosystems

Each session explores how construction and retrofit can positively impact people, places, and the planet. You’ll gain practical knowledge, see demonstrations of sustainable materials and technologies, and connect with others who are pioneering change in South Yorkshire’s built environment.

We’ll explore topics such as: 

• Sustainable materials and installation – from insulation and timber framing to recycled products and circular design. 

• Integrating landscape and construction – how to design with nature through green roofs, living walls, and rainwater harvesting. 

• Nature-positive systems – using SuDS, landscaping, and local ecosystems to improve climate resilience. 

• Community and local supply chains – strengthening SME networks and supporting local manufacturing. 

• Peer learning and collaboration – sharing experiences, challenges, and innovation across the sector.
