In this informal talk, Dr Zara Whysall will discuss key challenges that are likely to be experienced by entrepreneurs when transitioning from business founder to employer and people manager, encouraging interactive discussion around topics such as:
• How to manage the transition from Founder to Employer – what do I need to let go of? What do I need to retain?
• How do I spot ‘potential’? What are the most valuable qualities should I be looking for in an employee?
• How do I engage my employees so that they are as passionate about my business as I am?
Zara is an academic, consultant, and Chartered Psychologist who specialises in translating academic research into practical insights for managers and employers, helping address HR/L&D challenges such as talent management, leadership development, and high performing teams.
This event will take place at 14 St Mary’s Gate, Lace Market, Nottingham, NG1 1PF 9am-12pm

This event is free to attend, but attendees must register in advance. In order to attend this event you must be eligible for support from the Enabling Innovation Programme, which supports SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Enabling Innovation is a three-year collaboration between Nottingham Trent University, the University of Nottingham, and the University of Derby to support SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to innovate. It is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
