Event description

Description

A half day conference in East Lothian, with keynote speaker, Dr. Adam Burley, consultant clinical psychologist, and Tina Hendry, a co-founder of the RESILIENCE movement in Scotland, sharing awareness and understanding around Adverse Childhood Experiences and how to build an ACEs toolkit. Attendees can choose from 2 of the 4 workshops to help policy makers and practitioners explore 'how to identifiy and develop tools that help enable resilience in ourselves and others', enabling resilience together.

A partnership between Support from the Start, NHS Lothian and East Lothian Council has considered the "What Next?" statement for those who have watched the RESILIENCE documentary or been involved in discussions around ACEs in Scotland. We offer this conference to facilitate more local awareness and help build steps towards East Lothian being an ACE Aware county, with those working and living here proactively creating the best environment for Healthy Happy Bairns and adults.

Choose from Community Resilience, Resilient Environments (focus on schools), Intrapersonal Resilience (between different people) and Personal Resilience.

The conference will end with a panel discussion and plenary, which will address both the Challenge and the Reassurances in how the findings of the day will be used and shared.

Registration will open at 8:45. Conference will commence at 9:15 am.
