Event description

Description

You will learn basic jewellery making techniques such as cutting sterling silver wire, using a jeweller’s piercing saw to form a ring and soldering the different shapes together to form your own piece. The silver will then be prepared for enamelling with silver cloisonné wires. The cloisonné technique of enamelling with fine silver or gold wires has its roots in ancient China and can be seen around the world. There are magnificent examples of large cloisonné vase surfaces in the Royal Pavilion, Brighton. At the end of the course you will take home a beautifully crafted ring of your own design.

All materials will be provided.

Suitable for all levels including beginners.
