Encircle Films - 2040 Screening Event
Event Information
About this Event
The "Us" in this case is a collaboration between Encircle Films, a small Eugene, Oregon educational non-profit, focused on social and environmental justice, and Together Films, a film marketing and distribution agency tasked with bringing an incredibly important and timely documentary film to the attention of as many people as possible. What both organizations understand is that time is running out for the kind of critical climate action that has the possibility of mitigating the worst impacts of the climate crisis, and the need to help people understand that we have already identified many, if not most, of the necessary solutions. That's why were working together to bring you this screening. Tickets are only $8 per household. Encircle Films
About This Film
Now, more than ever, we need positive voices in the ecological crisis. Join us to see director Damon Gameau's 'exercise in fact-based dreaming', 2040.
The film takes a solutions-based approach to how we can, using the technology we already have, mitigate the enormous global issues we currently face. The main themes/solutions looked at in the film are around: empowerment of women and girls; marine regeneration; regenerative agriculture; renewable energy; and circular economy. It's a story of hope, and a powerful tool to encourage people to take action. You can watch the trailer here.
