Join new community choir Encore for a free taster session - singing, fun, cake and laughter to kick start your week! Meet local people, do something creative and good for your wellbeing, get focused and energised for the week ahead, work towards local performances and get to know the community.

Encore is a non-auditoned community choir in Surbiton, celebrating its 11th birthday this year! We value community, social time, fun through music and singing together, achieving something greater than the sum of our parts, and a supportive space for everyone to find their voice and build their skills and confidence!

Taster sessions include:

🎶a physical and vocal warm up - to get energised and focused, engage with the group, release some tension and get our voices buzzing!

🎶learning a round or simple song all together then create some harmony and different layers of challenge by adding elements as we go

🎶working on sections of songs in different styles in 3 or 4 part harmony, some a cappella and some with piano accompaniment

🎶a social tea break in the middle to get to know the group and make friends

The choir is led by Eleanor Rastall who specialises in running non-auditioned community choirs and loves helping people find their voices and their community. We are accompanied by Ben Lewis-Smith who you can hear beautifully multi-tasking in the video, as he manages to play a complicated Sondheim song while video-ing the choir!
