Our Speakers

Vijay Pillai is Pastor of Aberdeen Christian Fellowship, where he has served since 2006. Prior to his ministry in Aberdeen, he served in India with the Indian Inland Mission as pastor and church planter since 1993. He loves all kinds of music, especially jazz. Some late nights you may very well find him playing piano at an Aberdeen jazz club. Vijay is married to Aylwin, whom he met while he was doing his PhD in Theology at the University of Aberdeen. They have two teenage sons and a bouncy miniature Schnauzer named Roxy.

Cammy MacKenzie is the minister of the Tron Kirk Gilmerton and Moredun Church. He is married to Dilma and they have two sons. He was ordained as a Church of Scotland Minister in 1997 and has since sought to be in the lives of the oppressed, reaching out to the addicted, and more recently the plight of folks right on the edge of real poverty in Edinburgh.

Originally from Glasgow, Graeme Shanks and his wife Alex have been at Bruntsfield Evangelical Church for just over 7 years. Having felt the Lord's call to full-time vocational ministry, Graeme left a career in law to begin working at the church in 2012. After a period as the Assistant Pastor he became the Senior Pastor in 2017. Graeme and Alex have two little girls, Chloe (4) and Grace (2). He enjoys sports of every kind and is an ardent follower of Airdrieonians Football Club

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is no parking within the venue itself. Parking in nearby streets is also very limited, with parking zones operating Mon-Sat 08:30-18:30. Nicolson Square is well served by a number of buses (2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 29, 30, 31, 33, 37, 49) and is an 10-12 minute walk from Waverley Railway Station. Bicycles are not allowed within the venue buildings, but there are external railings available.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We need to know that you have a ticket (particularly if you are joining us for dinner) so that we have enough refreshments and food. Please bring your printed ticket, or a copy on your phone. You can use the Eventbrite App to manage your events too.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

Please phone or email us to let us know about any special dietary requirements and we'll do our best to provide a meal and refreshments you will enjoy. Please call the Edinburgh City Mission office on 0131 225 9445, or email us at events@edinburghcitymission.org.uk.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

We're really happy to help. If you have any queries at all, please call the Edinburgh City Mission office on 0131 225 9445, or email us at events@edinburghcitymission.org.uk.
