About this event

This training is aimed at all healthcare providers and nursing/domiciliary agencies. It has been developed by our expert facilitator who has worked in hospice care for over 25 years. The training is purposely being delivered in small groups ensuring every learner has a personalised experience, empowering them to lead with confidence when working with end of life patients. The training will take place face-to-face on 2 consecutive afternoons from 12:30 to 16:30.

Aim: To empower all Health Care Professionals to support their teams through patient end-of-life care with dignity and respect, whilst also supporting families.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop communication skills to empower the health care professional to initiate conversations around death.
  • To understand medications.
  • To support the wishes of the patient.
  • To assess, plan and provide person-centred care.
  • Spiritual care.
  • Identifying the dying patient.
  • Care of the dying patient.

Locally, ellenor provides Education Programmes for all service providers with an aim to share our knowledge and experience with delivering effective End of Life care. As such, we are the first hospice in Kent to provide accredited End of Life care courses, through our partnership with St Christopher’s and Croydon College.

We are part of a local facilitators collaborative partnering with:-

  • Heart of Kent hospice Pilgrims hospice
  • Kent Community Foundation Trust

The main function of this group is to deliver virtual training for End of Life care.
