End of Term - Cultivating a Practice as a Working Class Artist

A supportive and informal workshop to invite collective reflection on what it means to have a practice as a working class artist.

We will be considering as a group how is a practice sustained, or not, these days?

Artists at different stages of their career are very welcome!

Feel free to bring along a notebook, your grievances and your celebrations. Anything else you feel would be useful and supportive in the session.

The aim of this workshop is to offer time and space to share, discuss and lean on each other (metaphorically) as a way of moving forward in a more sustainable and healthy way.

We will attempt to put together our own practice-care plan to support us through the rest of the summer.

The structure of the workshop will be determined at the start of the session, once participants arrive to ensure time is used appropriately and there are regular breaks.

There will be some light refreshments available, but everyone is welcome to bring along what they need to sustain themselves during the workshop.

End of Term - Cultivating a Practice as a Working Class Artist is part of End of Term - public programme:

📽️ Thurs 24th, Fri 25th, Sat 26th July from 6.30pm

16mm film and 35mm slide projections of found footage from the abandoned school in Bulgaria, St Clement of Ohrid. This is not a movie night series, more of a testing ground.

🧫 Fri 25th July from 4pm - 6pm

Cultivating a Practice as a Working Class Artist, a workshop offering space and time for reflections on what it means to be a working class artist, how do we manage, or not, working alongside practicing as an artist.

👩‍🎨 Sat 26th July from 1pm - 4pm

Artist Crit - inviting lens based and expanded photography artists to spend time and share space and practice, to give, receive feedback, or to just listen in.
