End of Year Show 2015: Media Degrees at London Met

Join us in celebrating the end of the academic year with current students and staff from the School of Media, Culture and Communication. Students from our degrees in Digital Media, Film and Television Studies, Journalism, Film and Television Studies and Media and Communications will be showcasing their best work from this academic year, from documentaries, drama and experimental films to animations, digital artefacts and installations.
At 2pm, join us also for the premiere screening of Film and Television Studies student, Max Thompson’s first feature film in TMG-83.
Promoting critical understanding of the role media and information play in shaping our social world, the School of Media, Culture and Communications combines theoretical and practice-based learning in an intellectually stimulating environment.
Students can choose from a diverse range of courses across a number of academic disciplines including, media, film, journalism, information management, creative and professional writing, and theatre and performing arts.
Our courses offer research-led teaching from top international experts in media, information and communication in a well-resourced learning environment. With access to professional standard equipment, and the opportunity to take part in work placements, students will gain valuable practical skills for the future.
The School has an excellent reputation for research and academic staff regularly contribute to industry journals, advisory groups, governmental policy, as well as TV and radio. In the recent government assessment of research excellence, media and communications at London Met was ranked in the top 24 universities in the UK.

Translation and Interpreting Department, School of Media, Culture and Communication
We are full members of CIUTI (Conférence Internationale Permanente D'Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interprètes) and work in close collaboration with professional associations such as the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CiOL), the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), the United Nations and the European Commission.
We offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in translation and interpreting and provide professional development and consultancy services to individuals and organisations in the UK and overseas in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In addition, short courses and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) take place throughout the year.
London Metropolitan University offers an extensive range of languages resources, including multilingual documents, specialised dictionaries and translation-specific software. It has invested heavily in a state-of-the-art interpreting suite, situated in Moorgate, City of London.
