This free seminar will explore how statutory, commissioned, and non-commissioned services across the London Borough of Brent are collaborating to end homelessness for rough sleepers.

In October 2023, the local community went live with the 'Built for Zero' methodology to gain a deeper understanding of the homeless system by collecting live, accurate data and creating a comprehensive 'By Name List' (BNL) that tracks every rough sleeper in the borough. This data-driven approach enables more focused partnership efforts, improves service planning, and directs prevention strategies where they are needed most. The project operates using a test-and-learn model, allowing the community to trial innovative methods within the homeless system. Recent initiatives include improvements to pathways both into and out of commissioned housing-related support, as well as a 90-day sprint aimed at supporting long-term rough sleepers off the streets.

Attendees will hear firsthand about the community’s progress and learn how data and collaboration are driving meaningful change. The seminar will feature insights from the project lead and a senior council champion who will share their experiences and future plans for continuing this important work.
