ENDO STAPES 2026
Overview
Learning Objectives – Summary
By the end of this course, participants will have developed a comprehensive and practical understanding of endoscopic stapes surgery across the full spectrum of practice. Delegates will be able to select appropriate patients based on audiological, clinical, and imaging criteria; apply detailed endoscopic middle ear anatomy to real-world surgical decision-making; and perform safe, ergonomic one-handed endoscopic stapes surgery. The course will enable participants to master key technical steps including footplate fenestration, piston selection and crimping, and the effective use of lasers, while confidently managing challenging anatomy such as narrow oval window niches, facial nerve overhang, and obliterative otosclerosis. Attendees will also gain a structured approach to revision stapes surgery, complication prevention and rescue, and outcome analysis, supporting a safe and evidence-based transition from microscopic to endoscopic stapes surgery with a focus on durable hearing outcomes and patient safety.
