Ofgem have just announced that the energy price cap will go up by 2% on 1st October and energy debts continue to break records with over £4 billion now owed to energy suppliers. Join Chris and Kate again for one of our update events which will cover:
1) Energy updates
We will provide updates on topics such as energy prices, fixed & time-of-use tariffs, standing charges, new obligations around smart meters, Radio Teleswitch Service switchoff, changes to the Warm Home Discount & Winter Fuel Payment, winter support schemes, Awaab's law re damp in rented homes, current common problems/themes, resources and project ideas, and anything else that comes up in the next month.
2) Spotlight on energy efficiency support
For our spotlight section we will be joined by Chris Sowerbutts from Communitas Energy CIC (another NGN-partner) who will talk about two schemes they have around:
a) Home Heating Hub - free and independent advice on how to make a home more energy efficient, including heating assessments, guidance on insulation & funding info
b) Funding for a gas connection and gas central heating for vulnerable households
