Event description

Description

Bright Blue’s Forums are spaces for those on the centre-right to come together to chat about politics and discuss policy. This forum is on the balance of industry and environment, asking, "how can the Government successfully be both pro business and pro environment?"

For this forum, we welcome guest speakers Tom Burke and Tom Pickering. Tom Burke is Chairman and Founding Director of the environmental think tank E3G, Environmental Policy Adviser to Rio Tinto, and a university Visiting Professor at UCL and Imperial College London. He is also a former Special Advisor to Michael Heseltine. Tom Pickering is Director of INEOS Upstream including the INEOS Shale business which currently holds the largest number of fracking licences on the UK mainland. INEOS is now the largest privately owned business in the UK with manufacturing sites in the North East and Scotland. Tom personally has years of experience in both the UK energy and petrochemical industries.
